Suddenly the “New” is wearing off this year! While self improvement is commendable and changes can enhance your health, too much stress in too many places in our lives can have a substantial negative effect on our well being.
Stress, especially when it is ongoing, chronic stress, has been shown to lower the immune system which leaves us vulnerable to diseases like colds and flu as well as others we take for granted our bodies will manage. Our bodies do manage to keep us healthy under normal circumstances, but when things get out of hand, it may be time to ask for help.
Acupuncture treatments are very relaxing and, in fact, the number one most frequent comment I hear from patients is they have a sense of well being after a treatment. That is largely due to the reduction of stress by the endorphins released by an acupuncture treatment.
